News Update IIT Delhi team IITD Stars has got the wild card to participate in the world finals to be held next year in Canada. As per the rules, BUET Loopers of Bangladesh University Of Engg. & Tech., the contest winner at ACM ICPC Kanpur site, has already qualified for the world finals. The Kanpur Site Contest Dinner for all contestants, coaches, sponsors, organisers and volunteers was held on 15 December 2000. Contestants seemed excited and happy to be here, and perhaps a little nervous about the Contest to be held next morning. The Dinner was sponsored by Veritas Software India Private Limited (http://216.121.135.179/index.htm).Before the Dinner, Veritas made a 5 minute presentation on the company. This was followed by a quiz, based mainly on the presentation. The quiz was open to all contestants and student volunteers. The winners of this quiz will be announced and the prizes distributed before the Prize Distribution of the Contest on 16 December. Meanwhile everyone had a good dinner and exchanged notes with each other -- this human networking being one of the most valuable part of all such events.
