--Look on the 'CS Seminars' Website ( 'CS
Seminars' link on the Dept's main page) to find empty timeslots that
might be suitable for your guest.
--All Colloquia are 3-4pm Fridays. We really want to
keep this date and time consistent and predictable. Any exceptions must be
extreme hardship cases that have prior approval from Ming Kao.
--Send e-mail to Caryn
Tomasiewicz giving the prospective speaker's name, talk topic and
e-mail.
--She will get Ming's approval, and enter you on the website,
and send you a confirmation e-mail; then that date is 'locked' for your
exclusive use. If you change your mind, you can cancel at any time, but
only you can cancel or 'unlock' that date; it is yours.
--Be sure your speaker can come on the approved date. Then ask them to send the talk title, the talk abstract, website (if any) and a one-paragraph biography to Caryn. She will post the details to the website, to Plan-It Purple (the Northwestern Univ. Calendar), and with Olga's help will print and post flyers around campus 2 weeks before. She will also ensure that travel arrangements and reimbursement paperwork is properly done for you.
