Salutations

I am a PhD candidate in computer science at Northwestern University, working in artificial intelligence for educational software. I received my B.S. and M.Eng. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

At Northwestern, I work in the Qualitative Reasoning Group and my advisor is Ken Forbus.

CogSketch Design Coach

I am researching sketch understanding and qualitative reasoning in order to create intelligent coaching software that can understand and critique sketches of engineering designs. Using the CogSketch platform, I have created a "Design Coach" for Northwestern's Design Thinking and Communication course.

My research is supported by the National Science Foundation's Spatial Intelligence and Learning Center.
