The following requirements are in addition to, or further elaborate upon, those requirements outlined in the Student Services section of this Web site.
Coursework Requirements
Nine courses beyond the MS requirements (at least three at 400- or 500-level);
curriculum based on student's needs. At most 2 EECS 499's are allowed.
Other PhD Degree Requirements
- Examinations: as specified
under Student Services
- Research/Projects: independent research leading to dissertation
- PhD Dissertation: based on independent research
- Final Evaluations: oral defense of the dissertation
- Teaching: at least two experiences as instructor, teaching assistant,
or teaching trainee
