Preliminary Tournament Instructions

For the tournament,

  1. each team may only have a single player in the tournament;
  2. you must start your player after 6pm on June 3 and before 10am on June 4 (Eastern time);
  3. your player must connect to our Bazaar administrator on syrma.ccs.neu.edu at port 7000;
  4. you must let the machine and the player run until 2pm on June 4 or until your player is informed of the end of the tournament (whichever comes earlier);
  5. your player will be informed of the servers status during the registration phase
  6. you may re-register your player if, and only if, you notice a failure during the registration phase; if you do so at any other time, your player is considered a 0-point project;
  7. your player must have a name that consists of the following pieces: your last names followed by the name of your university;
  8. your player has two seconds for each interaction with the turn; if your player takes longer, it is eliminated from the tournament.
The tournament will consist of at least 100 but at most 200 rounds. There are approximately 20 teams at Northeastern and 10 teams at Chicago. You may wish to take this into account for your strategy tests.
