Miscellaneous Facts about Vincent
I was raised in Montréal, Québec. And born just outside. I moved to the US in 2009, for grad school. My family still lives in the Montréal area.
My first language is French. And I speak it with my family. English is my second language, which I did not speak day-to-day until I moved to the US. I’m a lot easier to understand now than I was then. If you’re struggling with English, don’t lose hope.
My last name is spelled with a "-". Not a dot, not a space. The "St" is as part of it as the rest. Translated from French, it means "holy love" which is pretty cool. So please be careful not to call me "Dr. Love".
I go by my first name. Using the English pronounciation. Unless you can speak French, Spanish, or the like, chances are slim that you can pronounce my last name in a way I’d recognize. If going by first name is good enough for the Pope, it’s good enough for me.
I’m an avid cyclist. Weather permitting, I like to bike my 10-mile commute. Most of it is along the lake, which is very nice.
I used to play in a couple death metal bands. Playing bass and keyboards. We even recorded a couple of our songs. No, I don’t have the recordings. Montréal had a pretty lively death metal scene back then.
