The approved compiler for this class is g++. Your code should compile and run successfully on the Wilkinson machines (g++ version 3.4.6). You may develop it elsewhere (e.g. cygwin, Mac OS X) but you must make certain it works on the approved machines before you submit.
If you do not already have an ECE account, the instructor will request one for you as soon as the quarter begins. You will also need to obtain a key for the Wilkinson lab. If you prefer to work from home, you can use SSH or Starnet's X_Win 32 Both of these, as well as VPN are available on the Northwestern IT site.
